​40 cyclists from the four districts participated in the Cycling Recreation in conjunction with the 40th National Day Celebration. The 40-kilometre ride began and ended at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar 'Ali Saifuddien in the capital.

The event was flagged off by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. The cyclists comprised national athletes and clubs under the Brunei Darussalam Cycling Federation.
